Job Description
Provides high quality care using a holistic approach and a comprehensive care to allcritically ill patients  using an evidenced based practice which addresses the needs of the patients. Registered nurse collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care delivery and achivement of desired patient outcomes.

Key Outputs

A.Assesment
1Conducts thorough head to toe assesment on each assigned patient at within 24 hours of patient admission . For Example:
- Pain Assesment
- Nutritional Status
- Bed ridden patient for skinintegrity
- Fall Assesment
2Conducts age specific assessment of patients.
3Provides age specific monitoring of patients
4Provides age specific management of patients requiring special care
5Assesses patients/family health education needs and intervense accordingly.
6Completes re-assessment of assigned patients by utilizing nursing process to identify care needs and documents it accurately in the approprieate form.
B.Planning
1Plans and prioritizes his/her work to provide best quality care according to patient's need assessment and documents in care plan for each patient.
C.Implementation
1Delivers planned care (Total patient care) to all assigned patients with minimum supervision.
2Administers medication safely, monitors patient responses to medication where indicated and reports realted incidents promptly.
3Positioning - moves the patient or bod part to provide comfort, reduce the risk of skin breakdown, promote skin intergrity and /or promote healing.
4Handling and caring for patients (age Specific ) on ventilator, air way suctioning.  Central line management and Managing babies under phototherapy, when ever required.
5Code Management - coordinates emergency measures to sustain life.  Assists in handling cardiac arrest situation and Emergency Care - provide lif-saving measures in life-atening situations.
6Neurologic Monitoring - collects and analyses patient data to prevent or minimize neurologic complications.
7Post-anesthesia Care - monitors and manages the patient who has recetly undergone general or regional anesthesia.
8Fluid /Electrolyte management
9Demonstrate safe handling and proper use of equipment.
10Participates actrively in patient/family education.
11Provides safe environment for the patiens and him/her self by following infection control policies and applying safety measures for patients.
12Monitors and records nutritional status of all assigned patients in patient's chart and informs dietitian when ever required.
13Demonstrate knowledge and skills in blood, blood products administration.
14Takes and gives complete over of crash cart, stock medication, narcotics and refrigerator items.
15Followa discharge procedure of his/her assigned patients according to hospital protocol.  Multidisciplinary Care Conference - plans and evaluates patient care with health professionals from other disciplines.
16Respond to life saving situation based upon nursing standards and protocol.
17Monitors catheters, leads, tubings for proper placement and functioning
D.Evaluation
1Evaluates results of nursing interventions on assigned patients and modifies nursing care plans.
2Ensures all assigned patients got quality nursing care by reassessing patient's health status as per requirment and before his/her shift ends.
3Evaluates the level of patients satisfaction at the end of his/her shift.
E.Documentation
1Provides timely, comprehensive and complete nursing documentation as per nursing department protocol/standards.

Requirements
Educational Requirements:
HAAD Professional Qualification Requirement (PQR) for Registered Nurse.
Professional Experience:
2 years experience in similar field.

Job Description
Function as a member of the OT  team in providing quality patient care through scrubbing, preparation and handling of instruments and sutures during routine and complex surgical procedures.



Key Outputs
1 Conducts thorough head to toe assessment on each assigned patient at within 24 hours of patient admission. For example

2 Responsible for Initial assessment of the patient on arrival to the Operating Room, identity of the patient and verification of the procedures.
3 Circulatory Nurse has important responsibility to ensure Time Out is followed as per policy.  At the time of receiving the patient from surgical unit and in the OT .
4 Disposition of sensory aids or prosthetic accompanying the patient on arrival in the Operating Room.
5 Providing assistance for positioning the patient, support, safety devices and restraints during the surgical procedure.
6 "Documentation of the following:                                                                                               a) The names and times of all personnel in the room for the procedure.
b) The type of anesthetic administered and by whom.
c) The surgical site preparation, medications and solutions administered.
d) Type, size and manufacturer’s identifying information of prosthetic implants and location of the same etc.
e) Correctness of surgical counts.
f) Placement of drains, catheters, dressing and packing.
g) Disposition of the patient after leaving the Operating Theatre
h) Any unusual event or complication.

7 Assisting  the patients upon transfer to recovery room.
8 Disposition of tissue, specimens and cultures.
9 Attaching the original documentation of nursing data to the patients’ medical record.
10 Creation & maintenance of a safe and comfortable environment for the patient by implementing the principles of asepsis.
11 An effective circulator ensures that the sterile team is supplied with every item necessary to perform the surgical procedure efficiently.
12 Must keep a record of all supplies, instruments and equipments. He/she should be able to obtain them quickly and guard against inadvertent hazards in their use and care.
13 Must be competent enough to direct and supervise scrub nurse.
14 Must be able to handle and identify any potential environmental danger or stressful situation involving the patient, other team members or both.
15 Maintains a timely and effective communication link with the concern team members and regularly keep them updated about the status of their patients.
16 Standards from JCI, ISO and HAAD are promptly followed and applied accordingly to ensure patient safety.
