Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting for Nursing Assistants to join our dynamic Team in Outpatient Department in Mediclinic City Hospital.

The Nursing Assistant works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to provide basic nursing care to patients.
RequirementsRequirements – Licensing & Education:
• Nursing Diploma – 2 years
• At least 2 years post graduate experience
• Current license as a Nursing Assistant or as a Registered Nurse (in home country and in current country of residence)
Generic Skills/Abilities/Experience Required:
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care in the ward/unit
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement for better health outcomes
• Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language skills are well regarded)
• High level of verbal and written communication skills
• High level of interpersonal and organizational skills
• Demonstrated competence in working under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Good computer literacy
• Ability to function effectively under pressure
• Ability to promote excellence in patient care through mentoring and quality management
Key OutputsKey Responsibilities of the Role:
• Ensures that patients have an adequate supply of clean linen, and that soiled items are removed.
• Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and neat.
• Prepares beds as required.
• Observes and reports all changes in the physical and mental state of a patient to the
• Registered Nurse
• Assists all patients with activities of daily living
• Provides assistance with lifting and turning patients and assists patients with ambulation
• Orients patients to the nurse-call system, television and telephone
• Receives patients and visitors in the nursing unit
• Provides assistance in emergencies
• Answers bells promptly and calls the nurse practitioner, if indicated
• Provides bed bathing and pressure care to patients
• Assists with patient nutrition and feeding
• Takes and records vital signs
• Maintains knowledge of the upkeep of intake and output of a patient

The Nurse Assistant may also be required to perform the following functions:
• Provision of administrative support
• Portaging and / or acting as a General Assistant
• Assisting in maintaining a tidy unit; especially the Nurses station, and utility rooms
• Monitoring and ordering linen and stores
• Caring for patient flowers and patient belongings
• Collecting or taking items to other areas of the hospital as requested by the Nurse Manager or Team Leader.
• The Nurse Assistant will be required to follow hospital policy and procedures, with particular emphasis on policies relating to infection control, patient safety, medical waste, manual handling, and human resources.
