Job Description
Provides a comprehensive, individualize consistent and adress patient safety prinicples involving the patient and family in a process that is designed to deliver the best possible patient outcomes. The Medical/Surgical  registered nurse works collaboratively with the physician and health care providers to determine patients needs admission and hospitalization. The registered nurse assumes responsibility for patient care, document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing action/intervention and ensure a safe environment of care.
A. Assesment
1 Conducts thorough head to toe assesment on each assigned patient at within 24 hours of patient admission
2 Conducts age specific assessment of patients.
3 Provides age specific monitoring of patients
4 Provides age specific management of patients requiring special care
5 Assesses patients/families health education needs and intervenes accordingly.
6 Completes re-assessment of assigned patients by utilizing nursing process to identify care needs and documents it accurately in the appropriate form.
B. Planning
1 Plans and prioritizes his/her work to provide best quality care according to patient's need assessment and documents in care plan for each patient.
C. Implementation
1 Delivers planned care (Total patient care) to all assigned patients with minimum supervision.
2 Administers medication safely, monitors patient responses to medication where indicated and reports realted incidents promptly.
3 Positioning - moves the patient or body part to provide comfort, reduce the risk of skin breakdown, promote skin intergrity and /or promote healing.
4 Code Management - coordinates emergency measures to sustain life.  Assists in handling cardiac arrest situation and Emergency Care - provide life-saving measures in life-threatening situations.
5 Neurologic Monitoring - collects and analyses patient data to prevent or minimize neurologic complications.
6 Post-anesthesia Care - monitors and manages the patient who has recetly undergone general or regional anesthesia.
7 Fluid /Electrolyte management
8 Demonstrate safe handling and proper use of equipment.
9 Participates actively in patient/family education.
10 Provides safe environment for the patiens and him/her self by following infection control policies and applying safety measures for patients.
11 Monitors and records nutritional status of all assigned patients in patient's chart and informs dietitian when ever required.
12 Demonstrate knowledge and skills in blood, blood products administration.
13 Takes and gives complete over of crash cart, stock medication, narcotics and refrigerator items.
14 Follows discharge procedure of his/her assigned patients according to hospital protocol. Multidisciplinary Care Conference - plans and evaluate patient care with professionals form other disciplines.
D. Evaluation
1 Evaluates results of nursing interventions on assigned patients and modifies nursing care plans.
2 Ensures all assigned patients got quality nursing care by reassessing patient's health status as per requirment and before his/her shift ends.
3 Evaluates the level of patients satisfaction at the end of his/her shift.
E. Documentation
1 Provides timely, comprehensive and complete nursing documentation as per nursing division's protocol/standards.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:
HAAD Professional Qualification Requirement (PQR) for Registered Nurse
Professional Experience:
2 years experience in general nursing
