Job DescriptionMediclinic Middle East is looking for a highly skilled Operation Theater Nurse for a newly available position at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. 

Founded in 1998, Mediclinic Welcare Hospital is a modern, multi-speciality 127 bed medical facility providing attentive, cost-effective, quality care of an international standard.
Requirements•Locally based candidates with 3-5 years experience in Operation Theater Nursing, with a specialty of at least 2 years in ophthalmology cases, will be given preference, but we are happy to consider candidates from overseas, who have the desired experience and qualifications
•Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Nursing with a minimum of 3 years duration from a recognized Nursing Institute
•Proof of valid registration as a Registered Nurse from home country 
•Active DHA license/ eligibility is a definite advantage
•Post graduate nursing study in Operation Theater is a plus
•Well verse in Ophthalmology, Obstetric and Gynecology and General Surgery cases
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
•Healthcare accreditation experience will be a distinct advantage 
•Fluent in English and knowledge of Arabic is an advantage 
•Computer and application knowledge at an intermediate level
•Strong service culture orientation. At ease functioning in a multicultural environment

RequirementsRequirements – Licensing & Education

Specialized Skills/Abilities/Experience Required
•Minimum of three years intensive care (ICU) nursing experience after graduation; preferably in a private hospital
•Two years previous experience in an Intensive Care Unit, level 2 minimum 
•Trained in Advanced Life Support and (pediatric life support - PALS preferred)
•Ability to deliver advanced nursing care in complex situations for these patients.
•Ability to observe, monitor, assess, report and document the ICU patients response to treatment

•Ability to provide emotional and psychological support to parents and families of these patients.

Key OutputsKey Responsibilities of the Role:
•Provides nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This includes establishing a nursing care plan for the ICU patient.
•Ensures compliance with documentation requirements as set out in the hospital policies
•Assists the medical team with the assessment of the patient and any procedures that need to be undertaken. 
•Maintains a good rapport with the family of the patient. Answers, or directs, their questions to the correct person. 
•Administers medications as directed
•Continuously monitors the patient and appropriately escalates any problems that arise.
•Participates in promoting evidence based standards of care
•Educates patients and relatives regarding the needs of the patient and, when possible, lets them actively participate in the care of the patient whilst maintaining confidentiality.
•Maintains and cares for all equipment
•Participates in ongoing education 
•Works within the scope of practice as prescribed by the licensing body
